Self Endearment is an Art

Self Endearment is finding a true love for oneself. Simply giving the same kindness and compassion to ourselves that we would give to others. It is in this self kindness that we become gentle and understanding rather than critical and judgmental.  It is in being connected to others in our common humanity rather than isolated by our sufferings. It is in being mindful and holding our experiences in balance and awareness, rather than ignoring our pain, our insecurities, and our fears. It is like a loving friend who is willing to listen to our difficulties without giving advice, being present in the moment and holding the space and encouragement for you to grow and truly shine.

Feeling compassion for ourselves, in no way releases us from responsibility for our actions. Rather, it releases us from the self-hatred that prevents us from responding to our life with clarity and balance.
